I have now taken two classes at GreenView Aquaponics Family Farm & Apiaryβ€”the Oxymel class and the Bee Bread class and I absolutely loved both of them going back each month! The amount of knowledge shared is amazing. These aren't classes where you simply sit and listenβ€”you learn the WHY behind what you're doing, the properties and benefits of the ingredients, how they work together, and how to take that knowledge home and actually use it. I especially love the hands-on approach. There is something incredibly rewarding about learning traditional, natural ways of working with herbs, honey, and the gifts that come from the bees and the garden. Both classes left me wanting to learn more, and I will definitely be back for others. If you're interested in herbs, honey, natural wellness, growing, sustainability, or simply becoming more knowledgeable about the incredible resources nature provides us, I highly recommend taking a class or two at GreenView. Come curious you'll leave inspired, educated, and already thinking about which class you want to take next! MarZia RiVera

I took the Bee101 class Nov 8 & 9. The class itself is excellent. It is very detailed. Day 1 is the bulk of the academic portion. You will need a pencil & paper. There is a quiz day 2 where they give out beekeeping supplies as prizes. Day 2 starts with pests / pest control, then lighting your smoker, followed by going into the hives and identifying capped honey, nectar, bee bread, and different kinds of brood. You will be holding one of every frame, including thousands of honey bees. The bees are very calm and docile, so there's nothing to be afraid of. Make sure you wear very loose, light colored clothes day 2. It gets hot in the bee yard as you are in direct sun. The second half of the day you build your beehive and frames. Overall, an exceptional educational experience. Well worth the money.

I just completed a two day beekeeping class with Tim and Astrid and I learned so much. If you want to learn about bees or become a beekeeper this class is a must. Everything is well planned out and organized. They even provided a delicious lunch both days. I truly enjoyed my time here and encourage you to sign up. Thank you Tim and Astrid!
